Approximately 147 cm x 73 cm, this piece features a rich red field with repeating geometric motifs and a darker border accented with dark blue and black details. Its compact, narrow size suits an entryway, beside a bed, or in front of a console.

Kunduz rugs share similar colours and patterns to Khal Mohammadi rugs, but are of finer quality with tidy knotting and smooth, almost velvety pile. You will frequently see Kunduz rugs with a small section of flat-woven 'kilim' at either end, next to the fringes. They are hand-knotted in the Kunduz region of northern Afghanistan.
