Approximately 290 x 209 cm, this rug shows a rich red field with tidy, repeating geometric motifs and a contrasting dark border. Its generous size makes it well suited for a living room seating area or under a 6-8 seat dining table.

Kunduz rugs share similar colours and patterns to Khal Mohammadi rugs, but are of finer quality with tidy knotting and smooth, almost velvety pile. You will frequently see Kunduz rugs with a small section of flat-woven 'kilim' at either end, next to the fringes. They are hand-knotted in the Kunduz region of northern Afghanistan.
