Approximately 295 cm x 190 cm, this rug shows a rich red field with repeating geometric guls and a defined border, accented by dark outlines and touches of deep blue. Its size suits a medium to large living room, beneath a 6-seater dining table, or at the foot of a queen bed.

Kunduz rugs share similar colours and patterns to Khal Mohammadi rugs, but are of finer quality with tidy knotting and smooth, almost velvety pile. You will frequently see Kunduz rugs with a small section of flat-woven 'kilim' at either end, next to the fringes. They are hand-knotted in the Kunduz region of northern Afghanistan.
