This effectively makes them a hybrid between a kilim and a knotted carpet, and results in a high-low pile that gives an embossed appearance, emphasizing the diamond patterning that these rugs often feature. Our Mashwani kilims are skillfully handcrafted by the Mashwani people of Afghanistan.
