This approx. 280 cm x 202 cm rug features a plain gabbeh-style design with subtle tonal variations in brown, creating a calm, understated look. Its generous size makes it well suited to a living room, anchoring seating while adding warmth without busy patterning.

Gabbeh rugs are traditionally nomadic rugs, and feature very simple designs and patterns, often inspired by nature. It is not uncommon to see animals, people and trees scattered across these designs. The name 'Gabbeh' comes from the Persian word for raw/natural/uncut, and reflects the thick pile that these rugs traditionally featured. We sell Gabbeh rugs from a range of countries, including Iran, Afghanistan and India, with piles ranging from approximately 8mm up to 25mm thick!
